What’s On this Easter 2026

Looking for something to do this Easter? There's something for all at Cambridge University Botanic Garden.

Step into spring at Cambridge University Botanic Garden, where fresh growth, colour and scent are bringing the Garden to life. From vibrant Glasshouse displays to seasonal highlights across the landscape, plus a new family-friendly Easter trail, hands-on activities, exhibitions and guided tours, there’s something for all ages to enjoy.

We are open everyday over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend and school holiday, 10am – 6pm.

Seasonal Highlights:

Lush green foliage with cascading jade vine flowers in vibrant turquoise hues. The dense canopy filters sunlight, creating a tropical ambience.

🌿Glasshouse Gems: Step inside for bold colour and striking displays, including the Garden’s National Collection of Tulips, eye-catching alpine plants and the spectacular jade vine (Strongylodon macrobotrys) with its rare, cascading turquoise blooms.

🌿Talking Plants: Discover 20 fascinating plants through this interactive Glasshouse Range exhibition. Simply scan a QR code to hear the surprising stories behind the plants around you.

🌿Mediterranean Beds: A Mediterranean-inspired landscape, full of aromatic herbs, silvery foliage and vibrant spring colour. Expect a mix of textures, scents and blooms that evoke a Mediterranean escape.

🌿Rock Garden: A tranquil, carefully designed landscape showcasing alpine plants adapted to mountainous environments. Spring brings a tapestry of low-growing flowers among the rocks.

 

For Families:

🌸NEW Easter Plant Puzzle: Set off on an Easter adventure around the Garden. Solve six plant-themed puzzles as you explore and collect a prize at the end.

🌸Spring paper flowers family activity, 2 April: Get creative making your own paper flowers, inspired by colours and shapes of spring blooms in the Garden.

🌸Family Saturday, 4 April: Celebrate the beauty of blossom season with a creative session making cherry blossom art, while discovering the stories behind these much-loved trees.

🌸Seed sowing family activity, 31 March and 2 April: Learn how to grow your own plants at home. Make a biodegradable pot from newspaper, sow a sunflower seed and create a ‘pea head’ to grow tasty shoots on your windowsill.
