Beth Chatto Nursery boasts over 2,000 varieties of captivating plants, expertly propagated by a dedicated team using traditional methods such as cuttings, seeds, and divisions. Whether you’re an experienced gardener or unsure which plants will best suit your garden, this visit will provide inspiration and guidance.

Next, we’ll explore Green Island Gardens, a breathtaking 20-acre landscape meticulously designed within woodlands devastated by the 1987 hurricane. Now transformed, it features a stunning terrace, a serene Japanese garden, a coastal-themed seaside garden, tranquil water gardens, a striking gravel garden, and extensive woodland plantings. A true haven for plant enthusiasts, it showcases an extraordinary collection of rare and borderline-hardy plants that flourish in its unique island microclimate.

Price includes coach travel and entrance. Tours on demand at an additional £12 per person (on the day)

Booking code can be found in the ‘How to Book’ section of the Friends’ Newsletter (Events, p12).

(Provisional schedule: depart BG 8am or Trumpington Park & Ride 8.15am, return to Cambridge approx. 6pm).
