Book a learning visit

You can choose to arrange a visit with one of our Learning Officers or lead the day yourself.

Schools

Taught workshops are now fully booked for the spring and summer terms. Please check availability before you complete the form, either by emailing us or call on 01223 331875. Free downloadable resources are available for self led visits and we still have lots of availability for these.

  • EYFS – KS2: Bookings for the Summer term are now open, as well as for Spring 2024/2025.
  • KS3+: Bookings are open for all terms in the 2024/2025 school year.

Booking form for 2024/2025 school year

If you are booking a workshop led by a Schools Learning Officer, please explore the workshop pages before completing the booking form and note that we can accommodate a maximum of 36 pupils per workshop.

Unfortunately we cannot guarantee your preferred dates will be available. Once you have filled in the form we will be in touch to confirm a date with you.

Before you book please read our guidance notes, downloadable below, about visiting the Garden with a school group.

We offer a free pre-visit for teachers. You can either arrange a time to meet a Schools Learning Officer, or arrange a free entry into the Garden to plan your visit. Please contact us to arrange this.

Gatsby School Visit Grant

Thanks to a generous grant to the Botanic Garden from The Gatsby Charitable Foundation, we are offering a new travel grant scheme for state schools to support visiting the Botanic Garden. We are able to reimburse travel costs for all state schools on taught visits (EYFS to Year 13).  We will also waive our usual fee for taught workshops for those schools with an at or higher-than-average pupil premium percentage. The grant will operate in the 2023/2024, 2024/2025 and 2025/2026.

The Gatsby School Visit Grant has been fully allocated for the 2024/2025 school year. Visit the grant page for further details.
