CUBG has a beautiful collection of passion flowers.
These plants, of the genus Passiflora, are very diverse in Colombia, to where we travelled in December 2018 to participate in an expedition organised by the local specialist, Dr. John Ocampo.
We explored the tropical rainforests of a remote locality in the department of Antioquia, where we found numerous species, including one that is possibly new to science.
This expedition was the first step in the way to consolidate a collection of Colombian passion flowers at the botanic gardens of Quindío and CUBG.
