Horticultural Participation Coordinator (Fixed Term – 4 Years)

Join us to help grow people as well as plants

Salary: £34, 800-£40,904

Contract: 4 year fixed term

Working pattern: Monday-Friday, 365 hours per week

Closing date: Sunday 16 August 2026

This is a new, four-year fixed-term position working across both our Horticulture and Learning teams to bring people and horticulture together. Reporting to the Head of Learning, you will coordinate and develop the Garden’s horticultural volunteer programme, deliver inclusive community participation and Social and Therapeutic Horticulture activities, and help ensure our living collection and public spaces continue to thrive.

We’re looking for someone with strong practical horticultural skills and a recognised horticultural qualification, together with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and experience of coordinating, training or supporting volunteers or community groups. Empathy and the ability to support people with varying needs are essential, particularly in delivering Social and Therapeutic Horticulture. Training in Social and Therapeutic Horticulture, or a teaching or training qualification, would be an advantage.
