About the space
The Geoffery and Eileen Adams Garden Room was opened in 2015 following a generous donation from Chris Adams in memory of his parents, who were both passionate gardeners.
The building was constructed with environmental considerations in mind. It is heated with an air-source heat pump, uses light tunnels to reduce the need for electric lighting and has solar panels in the roof. The construction also used 80% recycled insulation and a method for the foundations which used less concrete than traditional builds. We also collect rainwater in water butts which is used in the Schools Garden.
Being able to have the classroom and a space for us to be separate from the general public was so useful
