(Eudicots)
The Asterid group of eudicots is recently derived, and features ornate flowers with organs fused into tubes. Approximately 1/3 of all flowering plants (around 80,000 species) are Asterids, including nightshades, daisies, morning glory, mint and snapdragon. Note that a daisy capitulum comprises many closely packed flowers.
Cheirolophus does not flower all year round, so the trail label may have been moved to another Asterid species which is in flower.
Next: Erodium trifolium
Previous: Banksia spp.
