What’s On this Spring 2025

Come and experience this vibrant season, either by taking a simple walk through nature or by enjoying our wide variety of springtime events.

🌸 National Collections: enjoy our displays of Fritillaria, Tulipa and Saxifraga on show in the Alpine House, Glasshouse Range.
🌸 Magnolias: marvel at the vibrant colours of show-stopping magnolias by the Stream Garden.
🌸 Cherry Blossom: enjoy clouds of blossom throughout the Garden including the stunning Yoshino cherry tree (Prunus yedoensis) as it bursts into bloom on our Main Lawn.
🌸 Jade vine: wander through the Tropics House in the Glasshouse Range to find the strikingly coloured jade vine (Strongylodon macrobotrys).

🌸 Easter Trail – Fox’s Forgotten Words: Flora the Fox is sad. Nature words are disappearing from the English language, and she is worried about what will happen if they vanish forever! Join her this Easter on a quest through the Botanic Garden to track down the lost words. Pick up a free trail map at the ticket offices to start your adventure. Find all the missing words and claim a special Easter prize!

🌸 Family Saturdays Programme: enjoy free plant and wildlife themed crafts on the first Saturday of every month. This spring why not take part in:

Succulent Superstars: Saturday 5 April. Get to know the superstars of the plant world—succulents! Learn how these tough little plants survive with very little water. Plant your very own succulent and decorate its pot then take it home.

Bee Craft: Saturday 3 May. Buzz into the world of bees! Discover cool facts about these amazing pollinators, create your own bee craft to take home and show off your newfound bee knowledge!

🌸 Science on Sundays: From sexually deceptive flowers to plant collecting expeditions, come and discover the fascinating world of plant science in just 30 minutes! Celebrating its 10th year, Science on Sundays is a free, informal and monthly series of talks, sharing the latest discoveries in plant science and research with our visitors.

🌸 International Garden Photographer of the Year Exhibition 2025, 21 March – 7 May
Enjoy exploring a selection of stunning, winning images from the 18th International Garden Photographer of the Year Exhibition (IGPOTY).

🌸 Adult Learning Courses: the Garden offers a wide range of workshops and courses, providing a perfect place to develop an understanding of plants, learn more about garden history or get creative. Courses this spring include spoon carving, etching the Garden and how to use a botanical key.

🌸 Wild Garden: explore the wildflowers of the Botanic Garden with our early-morning guided walks throughout the summer, a special opportunity to experience the Garden before it opens to the public. Booking is required and tickets cost £10.

🌸 Free Expert Led Tours: join a tour every Sunday at 11.30am or 2pm, as our expert guides lead visitors through the Garden’s seasonal highlights. Tours are free with Garden admission on a first come, first served basis. Sign up at either Ticket Office.
