Thank you to Cambridge TV for producing this film.
Presenter Susan Calman explores the history of the Garden
Susan heads to the Botanic Garden as part of Channel 5’s ‘Susan Calman’s Great British Cities’ series. She meets CUBG’s Head of Horticulture Sally Petitt and delves into the story of one of the greatest teacher-student relationships in history – John Stevens Henslow and Charles Darwin.
She also chats to Dr Edwin Rose, AHRC Early Career Research Fellow and Advanced Research Fellow at Darwin College to discover more about this story and see some of Cambridge University Herbarium’s rarely seen plant specimens, collected by Darwin on his famous Voyage of the Beagle between 1831-1836.
