Discover the wonder of plants and the natural world through the stories and facts found in Matthew’s Library, a small collection of books for families inside the Garden Café.
Here, children of all ages can dive into enchanting stories and discover interesting facts – all celebrating the wonders of plants and the magic of the natural world.
Established in 2008 in loving memory of Matthew Brett, this library was brought to life through the generosity of his family, friends, and supporters who contributed the beautiful shelving and books.
The Garden Learning team adds new titles regularly, with dedicated Garden Volunteers keeping everything well-loved and ready for little hands. We hope you and your family find inspiration, joy, and a few quiet moments to explore together here.
Would you like to help grow Matthew’s Library? Contact our Garden Learning team by emailing education@botanic.cam.ac.uk! We’re currently welcoming donations of plant-themed children’s books only, but please refrain from leaving books directly in the library.
