🌸 Magnolias: marvel at the vibrant colours of show-stopping magnolias by the Stream Garden.
🌸 Cherry Blossom: enjoy clouds of blossom throughout the Garden including the stunning Yoshino cherry tree (Prunus yedoensis) as it bursts into bloom on our Main Lawn.
🌸 Jade vine: wander through the Tropics House in the Glasshouse Range to find the strikingly coloured jade vine (Strongylodon macrobotrys).
🌸 National Collections: enjoy our displays of Fritillaria, Tulipa and Saxifraga on show in the Alpine House, Glasshouse Range.
For Families:
🌸 Easter Trail – The Lost Eggs: Butterfly has lost her eggs and needs your help to work out where she’s left them. Pick up a free booklet on your way into the Garden and visit the trail points to learn egg-citing facts and discover clues to lead you to butterfly’s missing eggs. The trail runs from 28 March – 14 April.
🌸 Family Saturdays Programme: enjoy free plant and wildlife themed crafts on the first Saturday of every month. This spring why not take part in:
Cherry Blossom Collage: Saturday 6 April. The Botanic Garden is famous for its beautiful cherry blossoms. Come along to make your own cherry blossom collage using paper and prints.
Leaf Boggarts: Saturday 4 May. Bring your imagination along to this session where we will be making, boggarts, pixies and all kinds of magical creatures out of sticks, clay and leaves.
For Adults:
🌸 Science on Sundays: from exploring herbarium uses to discovering the secrets of wildflowers and fungi, come and discover the fascinating world of plant science in just 30 minutes! Science on Sundays is a free, informal and monthly series of talks, sharing the latest discoveries in plant science and research with our visitors.
🌸 International Garden Photographer of the Year Exhibition 2024, 20 March – 7 May
Enjoy exploring a selection of stunning, winning images from the 17th International Garden Photographer of the Year Exhibition (IGPOTY).
🌸 Adult Learning Courses: the Garden offers a wide range of workshops and courses, providing a perfect place to develop an understanding of plants, learn more about garden history or get creative. Courses this spring include beginner’s garden design, understanding colour in plants and growing orchids.
🌸 Free Expert Led Tours: join a tour every Sunday at 2pm, as our expert guides lead visitors through the Garden’s seasonal highlights. Tours are free with Garden admission on a first come, first served basis. Sign up at Brookside Gate Ticket Office.
Cambridge Festival:
🌸 The weird world of carnivorous plants: the Botanic Garden is home to some very weird and wonderful meat-eating plants! Come along and find out more about these strange plants, including what they eat, how they catch their food and where they grow in the wild. This event is running on 23 March, 10.30am – 4.30pm with timed entry slots that must be booked.
🌸 Student Poetry Trail: explore the Botanic Garden in this self-guided trail running from 13 – 27 March and see how many poems you can spot. Student writers have joined with the Garden to give a voice to plants that people tend to walk past or overlook.
The Garden is open every day 10am – 5 pm in March, 10am – 6pm in April and May.
