Looking for a fun family day out this half-term?

Make this May half-term magical, with a family adventure at Cambridge University Botanic Garden! From colourful flowers and sweet scents to buzzing bee activities and hands-on crafts, there’s plenty for children to discover while grown-ups enjoy the beauty of the Garden too. Whether you’re following a trail, creating your own bee, or simply exploring together, it is a wonderful way to enjoy late spring outdoors.

We are open every day during May half-term, 10am – 6pm, and children aged 16 and under visit for free!

Seasonal Highlights for explorers:

🌼Scented Garden: Can you spot the brightest bloom and discover your favourite scent? Wander through the Scented Garden and enjoy the wonderful mix of fragrant flowers, herbs and plants.

🌳Woodland Garden: Step into the enchanting Woodland Garden, where unusual trees, delicate flowers and shady paths create the perfect place for a family wander. Keep an eye out for the unusual handkerchief tree, the stems of bleeding hearts and unfurling ferns.

🐝Bee School trail:22 May – 1 June: Become the newest pupil at bee school by picking up a self-led trail from the Garden Ticket Offices. As you explore the Garden, learn what it takes to become a brilliant bee.

🐝Bee craft family activity:26 – 27 May: Buzz over to the Schools’ Garden and make your own bee to take out into the Garden. This drop-in activity is perfect for young makers.

For grown-ups too:
