FULLY BOOKED Wild Garden Walks (14 April)

Early morning guided walks exploring British wild plants and their folklore

Booking essential Education

Event details

Monday 14 April 2025
8.30 - 9.30am

Price

£10

Explore the wildflowers of the Botanic Garden with our early morning guided walks, a special opportunity to experience the Garden before it opens to the public. Each walk highlights seasonal species, from bee orchids in the Old Pinetum to eyebright on the Ecological Mound, offering insight into their identification, ecology and distribution. You’ll also hear about their historical uses and folklore. Join us for one or more sessions and discover the rich diversity of British flora.

These walks will be led by Dr Raphaella Hull. Raphaella teaches and writes about plants as the Higher Education and Interpretation Coordinator at the Botanic Garden. She develops and delivers the Garden’s Further and Higher Education programme and creates interpretation materials that connect visitors with the plant world. Before this, she completed a PhD on how plants perceive mycorrhizal fungi in soil, with an interest in the evolution of this relationship and its significance in grassland ecosystems.

Booking is essential for this event. The ticket price does not include Garden admission and tickets are non-refundable.
