Did you know that you can support the Garden by making a donation of shares as well as direct donations (which we also welcome)?
Its a very tax-effective way to donate.
You can either donate the shares to the Garden, after which they will immediately be sold by the University and the profits given back to us, or you can sell the shares yourself and donate the proceeds.
The benefit of making a donation this way is that the you do not have to pay any Capital Gains Tax on shares that you give to charity. You can find out more about giving this way, and the benefits of it on the Government website for donating land, property or shares.
