In response, we have established the Giving in Memory Fund.
This offers a way of commemorating and celebrating a loved one through supporting the Botanic Garden’s work maintaining our beautiful heritage landscape and inspiring visitors about the importance of plants and plant science, horticulture and the joy of gardening.
This scheme replaces the tradition of memorial benches – as appropriate sites for benches within the Garden arise only very rarely, the waiting list for memorial benches is now very long and currently closed.
The Giving in Memory Fund has supported a number of projects in the Garden, from the building of our garden classroom, to creating an Arid Lands display in the Glasshouse Range and the creation of bulb belts to improve the spring displays.
All gifts to the Giving in Memory Fund are recorded in our Book of Benefactions held at 1 Brookside, which can be viewed at any time during Garden opening hours.
Please download the Giving in Memory Form for further information or contact the Development Officer by telephone via our Enquiry Point during Monday-Friday office hours (9am-1pm / 2-4.30pm) on 01223 336265 to discuss how a gift to the Giving in Memory Fund might be applied. If you would prefer to email an enquiry, please do so via our Enquiry Point at firstname.lastname@example.org.
