It offers a way of commemorating and celebrating a loved one through supporting the Botanic Garden’s work – maintaining our beautiful heritage landscape, inspiring visitors about the importance of plants and plant science, horticulture and the joy of gardening and supporting plant science research.
This scheme replaces the tradition of memorial benches as appropriate sites for benches within the Garden arise only very rarely, the waiting list for memorial benches is now very long and currently closed.
The Giving in Memory Fund has supported a number of projects in the Garden, from the building of our garden classroom, to creating an Arid Lands display in the Glasshouse Range and the creation of bulb belts to improve the spring displays.
All gifts to the Giving in Memory Fund are recorded in our Book of Benefactions held at 1 Brookside, which can be viewed at any time during Garden opening hours.
To discuss a Gift in Memory, please contact the Development Office by telephone via our Enquiry Point during Monday-Friday office hours (9am-1pm / 2-4.30pm) on 01223 336265 or email email@example.com
