The Garden holds a special place in many people’s hearts. Its tranquility and beauty offer a unique place for reflection in the heart of Cambridge and it is a special place to commemorate a loved one.
We offer two ways of commemorating and celebrating – through a donation to the Giving in Memory Fund or through the Memorial Bench scheme.
Both programmes help the Garden to maintain our beautiful heritage landscape, and inspire visitors about the importance of plants and plant science, horticulture and the joy of gardening.
The Giving in Memory Fund has supported a number of projects in the Garden, from the building of our garden classroom, to creating an Arid Lands display in the Glasshouse Range and the creation of bulb belts to improve the spring displays.
Memorial Benches give friends and families a place to come, remember and reflect in the beautiful surroundings of the Botanic Garden.
A gift of £3,000 will enable the Garden to purchase a new bench with a personalised plaque, which will remain for a minimum of 10 years.
